In his spare time, Ruggieri enjoys his membership in the Dog Training Club of Champaign-Urbana and his participation as an Elder Brother in Huang Lin Bao Jin, a martial art under the Shaolin Gong Fu tradition. Ruggieri currently resides in Urbana, Illinois. He has one daughter, Emer.
