Champaign County Economic Development Corporation

The Champaign County Economic Development Corporation is a public-private partnership dedicated to fostering a cooperative, county-wide approach to economic development. It coordinates with a number of other key organizations in the area to promote an environment in which business thrives.

The Champaign County Economic Development Corporation, through public private partnerships, continually improves the local economy by successfully driving business attraction, retention, and expansion. Supported by a streamlined staff led by the executive director, the EDC includes members from area businesses, developers, utilities, educational institutions, and local municipalities.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Business and Education Liaison – EDC is business' link to the community, the University of Illinois, Parkland College and other entities.
  • Site Location/Expansion Assistance – Look to EDC for help in finding just the right spot to locate your new facility and/or for assistance in expanding your presence in Champaign County.
  • Information Clearinghouse – Turn to EDC for one-stop shopping for information on business issues, incentives, education, available sites and buildings, and key statistics.
  • Business Visitation Program – Locate and grow here, and EDC will engage with you to help strengthen the county's cooperative business environment; and to identify, report, and address issues that may prohibit economic growth.
  • Key Issue Exploration – EDC looks forward to providing you with a forum for the public or private discussion of key development issues.
  • Nurture Technology – If you're a technology company, you will be interested in the programs administered by the EDC, including: techMix, techCocktail, and others
